This week brought us the arrival of Spring, Ramadan (The Muslim time of fast), rumors of the arrest of a former President (started by said former President), and the potential US ban of the popular social app Tik Tok. Most importantly, it is the early onset of allergy season. Get those hankies ready as we check out the internet’s response to the top stories of the third week in the miserable month of March! Achooo!
There’s lots of cheery songs written about the joys of Spring, but if you live in the Midwest, it’s just another Winter. We play along, anyway, and pack up all our sweaters, bring out the pastels, and spend the next month and a half shivering in our own households.
As a non-Muslim, I confess to not understanding all of these memes. However, I have learned never to ask a Muslim friend, “So, you can’t even drink water??”
This week, former President Donald Trump informed his supporters that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday for something to do with a porn star and hush money obtained from his campaign funds. I hate to say it, but my response to the charges was, “That’s seriously all you’ve got on this guy?” For Pete’s sake, try harder.
There is bipartisan support in Congress to ban the Tik Tok. Say goodbye to those good jobs numbers as millions of Gen Z will no longer be gainfully employed making videos of their cats dancing.
Enjoy the last week of March. Let’s hope it goes out like a lamb! Here’s a wholesome meme to start your weekend.
