Friends, is it even worth talking about anything except the Mug Shot Seen 'Round the World? Granted, we had Tropical Storm Hilary which the Republicans were hoping to indict. A young man named Oliver Anthony somehow went viral with a song that began as a judgement against greedy politicians and cooperate oligarchs, but meandered into a gripe about welfare people eating all his Fudge Rounds. We also lost a wonderful actor, Ron Cephus Jones, known to the This Is Us fandom as William. But, the internet had only one thing on its mind this week. "Bring out the mug shot!" And they did! Let's check it out.
There were plenty of mug shots to go around as Donald Trump's alleged co-conspirators turned themselves into the Fulton County, Georgia Courthouse. (Pro tip: a mug shot is not the same as a head shot. I'm looking at you, Jenna Ellis.)
The Republican National Committee held the first of its primary debates to let viewers get an opportunity to know nine people who will never be on the ballot in 2024.
Then came the historic moment when all the world saw, for the first time, a former President lying about his weight. "I'm 215 pounds if you don't count my brain. I have a very large brain. After everyone caught their breath from laughing so hard at the weight claim, The Mugshot (unlike the Kraken) was released!
