THE FUNNY PAPERS: The Week In Memes: August 26-September 1 Edition

It’s been quite the week for Florida! Hurricane Idalia barreled though the Panhandle. There was a tragic, racially-motivated  mass murder in Jacksonville. And Ron DeSantis is still Governor. For the rest of us, it’s the arrival of Football season, Do You Want Some Of My Home-Grown Tomatoes Please season, and Time To Get Out the Hoodies Season. Naturally, social media had a lot to say. Let’s check in.

The story that had everyone buzzing was the death of American treasure, Bob Barker. In his honor, can we all please get our pets spayed and neutered?

Folks in the Gulf Coast of Florida battened down the hatches for the first major hurricane of the season.

Two members of the militia group, Proud Boys, were given prison sentences after being found guilty of seditious conspiracy for their roles in the January 6 attack on The Capitol. Joseph Biggs received 17 years while Dominic Pezzola was sentenced to 10.  The few, the proud, the incarcerated.

Just today, we greeted the month of September. Pumpkin spice and fuzzy scarf sightings are being monitored.

That’s it for this week! Happy Labor Day to all who celebrate. Stay safe out there.
