THE FUNNY PAPERS: The Week In Memes - March 24-31 Edition

I wondered if I should put up a post this week. Sometimes, the news is just so sad that it feels wrong to laugh about anything at all. Yet, in the wake of the tragedy in Nashville and the horrific storms in Mississippi, the internet crowd managed to find a way to distract. Here’s the response to some of the big stories of this last week of March, 2023.

All eyes were on basketball as March Madness bracketeers saw their picks fall to lower-ranked teams. Please respect their privacy at this time

Of course, all eyes were also on The Statue of David and his full-frontal magnificence since a principal resigned after  getting flack for not warning parents that their children were going to be exposed to “porn.” Wonder if these parents have checked the library for the National Geographics.

Speaking of nonsense, Gwyneth Paltrow was in court this week. She was accused of running into an opthalmologist on the bunny hill at a ski resort. And I can’t believe I just wrote that sentence. Fortunately, the Goop honcho was exonerated, but not before the Internet had its say.

And it wouldn’t be March if it didn’t go out with a lion of a news story: The Indictment of Donald J. Trump.

That’s enough excitement for one week. I wonder what foolishness April will bring. Be safe out there, my friends.
